Aizawl, Jan. 9 -- : The political impasse in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) in Mizoram appeared to move towards a resolution on Friday as the Mizo National Front (MNF) announced a fresh post-poll alliance with the Congress and staked claim to form the next executive committee of the council.

The MNF said the new coalition, named the United Legislature Party, would form the government in the 25-member council, following days of shifting alliances and uncertainty after the fractured verdict in the December elections.
