Srinagar, April 5 -- Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), led by Kashmir's chief cleric and Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has rescheduled its proposed meeting on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill due to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's three-day visit to J&K starting Sunday.

The MMU, the region's largest religious representative body, which termed the passing of the Bill a 'deliberate attempt to undermine Muslim religious and community institutions and encroach upon them over time,' had convened a meeting of its members on Monday to deliberate on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.
