Gadchiroli, Nov. 28 -- The MMC special zonal committee of Naxalites, operating across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, has announced that it will formally surrender on January 1, 2026. The declaration was issued on November 27 through a public notice by committee spokesperson Anant.

The announcement comes amid intensified anti-Naxal operations, as security forces aim to eradicate Naxal activity nationwide by March 2026.

Over the past year, several senior Naxal leaders including central committee members and top commanders such as "Baswaraju" and "Hidma" - have been killed in encounters.
