Ranchi, Aug. 22 -- The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly resumed today with Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore presenting the first supplementary budget for 2025-26 amounting to Rs 4,296.62 crore.

The House also paid homage to former chief minister and Jharkhand's iconic leader Shibu Soren, popularly known as Dishom Guru, and former minister Ramdas Soren.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, and several legislators expressed grief over their demise.

During the condolence references, MLAs demanded that Shibu Soren be awarded Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award.
