Shimla, May 27 -- Himachal Pradesh MLA Sudhir Sharma has submitted a privilege motion to the Assembly Speaker against Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi, accusing him of making derogatory and threatening remarks during a press conference on May 24.
In a letter dated May 25, Sharma alleged that the SP made baseless and defamatory statements in his official capacity, which he termed a breach of privilege and an attack on his dignity as an elected representative.
"The statements were not only defamatory but also an affront to my dignity as a duly elected member of this esteemed House," Sharma wrote. He urged the Speaker to take urgent cognizance of the matter and initiate appropriate action.
