Aizawl, March 17 -- The Mizoram government utilised Rs. 46.40 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to mitigate damage, repair infrastructure, and provide relief following the devastation caused by Cyclone Remal on May 27-28 last year, officials from the Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Department said on Monday.

According to officials, over Rs. 5.17 crore was allocated to district disaster management authorities (DDMAs) as financial assistance for damaged houses, while Rs. 1.80 crore was sanctioned for debris clearance. The remaining funds were distributed among nine government departments to restore essential services and infrastructure.
