Aizawl, Feb. 20 -- In a coordinated move to reinforce border management, senior officials from Mizoram's southern districts of Lawngtlai and Siaha on Thursday held a virtual consultation focusing on regulation of trade and stricter enforcement of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) along the Indo-Myanmar frontier.
An official statement said the meeting resolved that the district magistrates of the two adjoining border districts would intensify enforcement of the FMR and other applicable regulations to ensure greater vigilance along the international boundary.
Participants emphasised that maintaining law and order in border areas requires a more disciplined and consistent implementation of existing rules.
