Aizawl, Sept. 30 -- In a decisive move against rampant drug trafficking from Myanmar, the Mizoram government's four-month initiative, 'Operation Jericho,' has intensified across Champhai district. In September, the district police confiscated 3.282 kg heroin, 74.852 kg of methamphetamine, and other clinical drugs, collectively valued at over Rs. 11.66 crore.
Launched on September 1, the operation aims to curb drug flow into the state, particularly through Champhai, and address the growing security concerns posed by drug addicts in public spaces.
Authorities said 19 cases were registered, leading to the arrest of 25 suspects under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act.
