Aizawl, July 30 -- The district administration of Serchhip in central Mizoram has officially kicked
off the biometric enrolment process for Myanmar and Bangladesh refugees residing in the state.
This crucial exercise began today in the Chanmari village council area of Serchhip town and will soon expand to other areas, both urban and rural, according to Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar) Rebecca Laldinmawii Hrahsel.
Hrahsel said that preparations for the enrolment had been finalized, with training sessions completed for the officials entrusted with the task. The biometric data collection teams will conduct door-to-door visits across 30 localities and villages within Serchhip district, gathering essential details of the refugees.
