Aizawl, Jan. 31 -- Mizoram has recorded no pig deaths or culling due to African Swine Fever (ASF) throughout January, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department Officials said.

No new cases were also reported in the state since December 24, they said.

According to officials, the ASF outbreak began subsiding in November last year as winter set in, with a significant drop in fatalities and culling by late December. No fresh cases have been reported since December 24. However, veterinary authorities remain cautious, warning that the virus could resurface in February or March when temperatures rise and humidity increases.
