Aizawl, Jan. 9 -- : At least 118 people died in Mizoram due to drug abuse during 2025, the highest number of drug-related deaths recorded in the state in the past two decades, according to data maintained by the state Excise & Narcotics Department and the Police.
Officials said the victims included 100 males and 18 females, aged between 14 and 57 years. A majority of the deaths were attributed to the consumption of mixed drugs, while around 40 persons lost their lives due to heroin abuse alone.
