Aizawl, Oct. 12 -- In a major crackdown on cross-border drug trafficking, Mizoram Police seized 1.627 kg of heroin valued at around Rs 49 lakh and arrested two Myanmar nationals near Chhungte locality in Champhai town, close to the Indo-Myanmar border today.

Police identified the accused as Lalvulmawia (42) of Letpanchaung, Sagaing Division, Myanmar, and Lalruatsuma (34) of Khawthlir in Chin State, Myanmar.

The latter, currently residing in Zokhawthar in Champhai district, was allegedly carrying the contraband on a scooter that has also been seized.
