Aizawl, June 25 -- The Department of Art & Culture, Government of Mizoram, on Tuesday organised a programme at Vaivakawn Cultural Centre to mark "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas" (Constitution Murder Day), an initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The event was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency in India on June 25, 1975.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma attended the programme as Chief Guest, with Art & Culture Minister C. Lalsawivunga as the Special Guest. This was the first time the day was officially observed in the state.

In his address, the Chief Minister said the observance serves as a reminder of the need to uphold democratic values and constitutional integrity.
