Aizawl, April 18 -- Christian-majority Mizoram observed Good Friday with solemn devotion and deep spiritual fervour, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, believed by the faithful to have died for the redemption of mankind.
The sacred observance is marked by special Holy Mass services in churches of various denominations. The faithful participated in night-long vigils that recalled the arrest of Jesus by Roman soldiers at the Garden of Gethsemane, where he had gone to pray.
