Aizawl, May 1 -- In a step aimed at strengthening safety, confidence and overall development among adolescent girls, a state-level self-defence training programme in taekwondo for students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) was launched today in Aizawl.
The inaugural function was held at the Conference Hall of the Planning & Programme Implementation Department and marked the formal rollout of the initiative across multiple EMRS institutions in Mizoram. The programme is being jointly organised by the Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department, the Planning & Programme Implementation Department under the EMRS Society, and the Mizoram Amateur Taekwondo Association (MATA).
