Aizawl, March 10 -- The Mizoram government is in the process of drafting a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the proposed transfer of Lengpui Airport to the Indian Air Force (IAF), Chief Minister Lalduhoma informed the state Assembly on Monday.
Responding to a query from Mizo National Front (MNF) legislator K. Laldawngliana, Lalduhoma said that a working committee tasked with assessing the Airport's maintenance and management was preparing the draft MoA. However, the committee has yet to submit the document for the state cabinet's review.
The working committee was reconstituted on November 18 last year, with MLA and Adviser to the Chief Minister (Finance & Planning) TBC Lalvenchhunga as its chairman.
