Aizawl, July 20 -- The Mizoram government is set to launch a large-scale biometric registration drive for thousands of Myanmar nationals currently taking refuge in the state, with Rs 38 lakh sanctioned to kickstart the enrolment process.

Senior officials from the state home department said that preparations are well underway to begin capturing biometric data of over 32,000 refugees, with the initial phase of enrolment expected to roll out within the month.
