Aizawl, Aug. 6 -- Mizoram is grappling with a severe shortage of essential commodities as National Highways 306 and 06-the state's vital transport links-remain in poor condition,
paralysing vehicular movement.
Since Monday, truck operators have suspended services, halting the flow of supplies from Assam, exacerbating the crisis.
A grocery store owner in Dawrpui's commercial hub described the situation as critical, with wholesale outlets running out of basic necessities such as rice, pasteurised milk, sugar, eggs, and even salt.
"It takes days for trucks to reach Aizawl, and now with the suspension of operations, the situation has worsened," she explained.
