Aizawl, June 17 -- In a bid to decongest its fast-growing capital, Mizoram is exploring the possibility of introducing a ropeway system under the Centre's Parvatmala Pariyojana - a national ropeway development initiative aimed at improving mobility in hilly terrains, a top functionary said today.

Governor General (Dr) V.K. Singh (Retd) during the day held a consultative meeting with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), and the state's Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) Department at Raj Bhavan to discuss the project's feasibility in Mizoram.
