Aizawl, Dec. 5 -- Chief Minister Lalduhoma has urged Chin refugees from Myanmar living in Mizoram to respect India's laws and maintain unity as they continue to seek safety in the state amid the turmoil in their home country.

Addressing the "Together for Humanity" Friendship Dinner hosted by the Institute of Chin Affairs (ICA) at Aijal Club here Thursday evening, the chief minister said Mizoram had become a refuge for the Chin people-whom he described as ethnic kin of the Mizos-since the military coup in Myanmar.

He said the state government and civil society groups had extended support to the displaced families to the best of their ability.
