Aizawl, July 31 -- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager (Construction) AK Chaudhary briefed Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on the progress of the Bairabi-Sairang
railway project, confirming that while the construction of the railway line and stations is now
complete, work on a secondary maintenance facility for coaches at Sairang station is still
underway.
In a meeting held today, Chaudhary explained that the secondary maintenance facility is expected
to take another month and a half to complete, which may delay the planned inauguration
of the railway section.
He noted that the delay in finishing this facility could push back the event, although the central government has agreed to wait for its completion.
