Aizawl, April 6 -- Concerned over the growing scale of unregulated cross-border trade, Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga on Monday called for the formulation of stringent guidelines to regulate commercial dealings involving foreign nationals in the district,which shares porous borders with both Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Addressing a meeting with newly elected leaders of the Central Young Lai Association (CYLA),the most influential civil society organisation in Lawngtlai, Lalruatsanga stressed the urgency of putting in place a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to manage and monitor trading activities involving foreigners.
