Aizawl, Oct. 9 -- Following the tragic deaths of several children in Madhya Pradesh due to the consumption of Coldrif Syrup, Mizoram's Drugs Controlling & Licensing Authority has imposed a ban on the import of three clinical drugs.

It has been confirmed that these drugs are contaminated with Diethylene Glycol (DEG), a toxic substance believed to have contributed to the fatalities.

The banned drugs include Coldrif Syrup, manufactured by Sresan Pharmaceuticals, along with Respifresh TR Syrup and Relife Syrup, produced by Rednex Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. and Shape Pharma Pvt. Ltd., respectively. Both syrups are also contaminated with DEG and have been deemed unsafe for public use.
