Aizawl, July 27 -- Even as Saturday marked four years since the deadly clash between Assam and Mizoram police forces at Vairengte, the two states are yet to finalise the date for the next round of official-level negotiations aimed at resolving the long-standing boundary dispute.

Mizoram Home Secretary Vanlalmawia said the state is awaiting a response from the Assam government regarding the timing of the proposed talks, which were agreed upon during the last secretary-level meeting held in Guwahati on April 25. "It was decided that the next round would be hosted in Aizawl, but the initiative to fix the date rests with Assam," he added.
