Aizawl, Feb. 5 -- The Mizoram excise & narcotics department, in collaboration with the Assam Rifles, seized a significant quantity of methamphetamine and heroin, arresting three Myanmarese nationals and one individual from Assam, an offcial said on Wednesday.

Government Spokesperson Peter Zohmingthanga said a joint operation at Zote Tau village in Champhai district, near the Myanmar border, led to the confiscation of 2.222 kg (20,200 tablets) of methamphetamine on Tuesday. Two Myanmarese nationals, Sumlamthang (35) from Bulfek village and Zamngaihno (36) from Bukphir village in Myanmar's Chin state, were taken into custody for trafficking the drugs.
