Aizawl, March 14 -- Mithun rearers from Zawlsei village in Champhai district have defended their situation after several carcasses of dholes, also known as Asiatic wild dogs, were recently found in the vicinity of the village, drawing attention from environmental activists and wildlife conservation groups.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the villagers said the incident had drawn significant public attention and that some environmental activists had announced plans to initiate legal action over the killing of the animals.
