Hobart, Jan. 1 -- Australia's Mitch Marsh crashed 102 off 58 balls to set up a comfortable 40-run win for Perth Scorchers over Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League.

Marsh hit 11 fours and five sixes at the top of the order as he made his highest Big Bash score, according to BBC sports.

He put on 164 with Aaron Hardie (94 not out off 43 balls) for the third wicket as Scorchers posted 229-3 - the seventh-highest total in Big Bash history.

Defending champions Hurricanes slipped to 70-4 in reply and were unable to recover, eventually finishing on 189-9.
