Shillong, Sept. 9 -- Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home, Prestone Tynsong today said that the state government was trying with "utmost seriousness" to locate a minor girl, who has been missing from the North Garo Hills district since July 18, this year.
Replying to a zero-hour notice moved by ruling National People's Party (NPP) legislator, Rupert Momin, the Home Minister said that several agencies, including the police, community members and NGOs were "working tirelessly" to trace the six years-old child, even as search operations have also been conducted in Assam, taking into consideration the possibility of involvement from outside.
Tysnong said one person has also been arrested in connection with the missing child.
