Srinagar, Sept. 20 -- After three days of 'house detention', Kashmir's chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was released today morning and allowed to visit the Sopore residence of senior separatist leader Prof. Abdul Ghani Bhat, a former Hurriyat chairman, who passed away on Wednesday evening.
Mirwaiz expressed deep sorrow at Bhat's demise, describing it as a personal loss, as the deceased leader was to him an affectionate elder, dear friend, and guide. He deeply regretted that he was not allowed to participate in his funeral.
