Srinagar, Oct. 2 -- Hurriyat chairman and Kashmir's chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today urged the government to "rethink its policy" on Jammu and Kashmir, saying that issues cannot be resolved through force or by controlling the narrative.
Mirwaiz said: "The banning of religious and social organisations, sealing of properties, and harassment of media houses by preventing them from publishing their perspective were unfortunate developments.
"In my opinion the government must rethink its policy on JK. Issues cannot be resolved through use of force and control of narrative. Constructive engagement and dialogue are a far better and humane way of achieving sustainable peace," he told media on the sidelines of religious conference in Budgam....
