Srinagar, Dec. 5 -- Kashmir's chief cleric, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Friday sought clarity on the status of the investigation into the suspected rotten and adulterated meat that was seized and destroyed across Jammu and Kashmir a few months ago.

Addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jamia Masjid in old Srinagar, Mirwaiz questioned the authorities over the progress of the probe into what he described as the "deeply disturbing" scandal in which the J&K Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) had confiscated tonnes of rotten, unlabelled and possibly unlawful meat being openly sold across the Valley.
