Srinagar, Sept. 26 -- Kashmir's chief cleric and Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today said he was again placed under house arrest by authorities, preventing him from offering prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
In a post on X, Mirwaiz said this was the third consecutive Friday that he had been barred from attending the mosque.
"Just informed by the police that today again, for the third consecutive Friday, I have been placed under house arrest and will not be allowed to go to Jama Masjid?" he wrote.
