Barabanki (UP), Feb. 22 -- A six-year-old girl was mauled by a pack of stray dogs in Jahangirabad area of Barabanki district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police said that the incident took place in Hazratpur where Sunil Kumar Gautam's daughter Mehak was playing with other children outside her house.
"Suddenly a pack of stray dogs attacked the children. While other children somehow managed to escape, Mehak was mauled by the dogs," they said.
Police said that the villagers who reached the spot chased away the dogs and took Mehak to the district hospital in a bloody condition.
"From there, she was referred to Lucknow's Lohia Hospital in critical condition, but the girl died
during treatment," they said....
