Sitapur, July 21 -- A 14 year-old girl died today morning after coming into contact with a fence through which electric current was flowing in Nabinagar village.

The incident sparked protests as grieving villagers blocked the Reusa-Tambaur road for nearly 45 minutes, demanding action against the farm owner. The deceased, Sunita, daughter of Jamuna from Nabinagar, had gone to relieve herself when she accidentally touched the electrified fence surrounding a nearby field owned by a man named Harish. The current killed her on the spot.
