Chennai, April 24 -- A minor fire broke out in the labour block of the Thanjavur Government Hospital here on Thursday.

Thanjavur District Collector Ms Priyanka, who immediately visited the spot, said none was injured in the fire.

All the patients were safe and there was no need for panic, she told reporters.

She said fire fighting units reached the spot within ten minutes with fire extinguishers and exhausters and put out the fire., which broke out following a short circuit in the AC unit in the labour ward situated in the first floor.
