Hyderabad, April 13 -- union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy on Monday underscored the growing global importance of critical minerals, stating that they have become central to geopolitics, climate change, and economic security.

Addressing the Critical Minerals Roadshow held here to promote the seventh tranche of auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks and also the 2nd Tranche of Exploration Licence (EL) blocks, Kishan Reddy said these minerals will play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.

He added that the Centre is taking steps to make the mineral sector self-reliant and reduce dependence on other countries.
