Bengaluru, Feb. 3 -- Karnataka Ministers MC Sudhakar and Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday strongly criticised the proposed VB-G-RAM-G Act, terming it anti-people and an attempt to dilute the spirit of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Addressing the media, Health Minister Sudhakar said MGNREGA was a "very revolutionary enactment" that ensured assured employment of at least 100 days for the rural population and had earned appreciation from organisations across the world.

He alleged that after the BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014, funds for the scheme were systematically cut and several curbs were imposed.
