Mumbai, June 6 -- Maharashtra Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike today expressed gratitude to the Mahayuti government for setting up a separate commission for Scheduled Tribes.
Uike said "on behalf of the one crore thirty five lakh tribal brothers of the state, we congratulate the Mahayuti government for taking the historic decision to set up the 'Maharashtra State Scheduled Tribes Commission' in the state".
For the first time after the formation of the state of Maharashtra, the Mahayuti government has taken this important step for the welfare of the tribal community and made a separate budgetary provision for this commission, he said.
