Hyderabad, May 20 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has urged the Union Government to supply the full quantity of urea allocated to the state for the months of April and May.
In a letter addressed to Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers JP Nadda, Minister Tummala highlighted the shortfall in fertiliser supply which can affect preparations for the upcoming Kharif season.
The Central Government had allocated a total of 9.80 lakh metric tonnes of urea to Telangana for the current monsoon season.
Of this, 1.70 lakh metric tonnes were earmarked for April and 1.60 lakh metric tonnes for May. However, only 1.20 lakh metric tonnes were delivered in April, and just 0.52 lakh metric tonnes have been received so far in ...
