Hyderabad, Aug. 30 -- Dr Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, and Joint Nizamabad District In-charge, held a review meeting on the flood situation in Kamareddy district at the SP office on Saturday.
Speaking at the review, Minister Seethakka said officials, working under the guidance of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, had acted in coordination and effectively prevented major loss of life and property in Yellareddy and Kamareddy constituencies, which were badly hit by cloudburst-triggered floods.
She appreciated the rescue of 300 students trapped in a hostel and the overnight evacuation of people from 14 villages submerged under the Pocharam dam to rehabilitation centres.
