Beed, Oct. 26 -- Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde today demanded a high-level investigation into the alleged suicide of Dr. Sampada Munde, saying she will meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to press for a thorough and impartial inquiry.

Pankaja Munde visited Dr. Sampada's native village to console her family and also spoke with Satara Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi, instructing him to ensure a swift and fair probe.

The deceased, who was posted at the Sub-District Hospital in Phaltan, died by alleged suicide in her quarters. Before her death, she purportedly inked on her hand that police Sub-Inspector Gopal Badane had sexually assaulted her and Constable Prashant Bankar had mentally harassed her.
