Hyderabad, March 21 -- On the occasion of World Forest Day, Minister for Forests and Environment Konda Surekha emphasised the vital role of forests in sustaining the ecosystem and called for collective efforts in their preservation.
Speaking at a program held at KBR Park on Friday, she highlighted the deep-rooted cultural and traditional significance of tree protection.
Quoting the well-known saying "Vrikshko rakshati rakshitha"-"If we protect the tree, the tree will protect us"-the minister underscored the importance of forest conservation for environmental balance.
