Kolhapur, July 12 -- Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister, Prakash Abitkar, today visited Panhalgad to celebrate the festival of lights on occasion of its inclusion in the list of World Heritage Sites.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "It is a matter of pride and honour that the Panhala Fort, which had
exceptional importance during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji, has been included in the list of World Heritage Sites and this will spread the identity of Panhalgad all over the world."
The development plan of Panhalgad, which has an inspiring history for the new generation, will be submitted to the state and central governments, he said and asserted that it is a matter of pride and honour.
