Srinagar, Aug. 4 -- Veteran politician and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah today said that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir will persist until relations between India and Pakistan see meaningful improvement.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah rejected claims that militancy in Kashmir has been eradicated.
"The militancy has neither ended, nor will it end. Those who believe it will end, I challenge them that militancy will not end until relations with our neighbour improve," he said.
Abdullah's comments come amid repeated assertions by the Union government that the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir has vastly improved in recent years.
