Palakkad, Dec. 19 -- A 31-year-old migrant labourer from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh was allegedly beaten to death in a case of mob lynching, after being accused of theft at Attapalam near Walayar, on December 17.
The deceased was identified as Ramnarayan Bhayar (31) of Bilaspur. Police have arrested five persons -- Anu, Prasad, Murali, Vipin and Ananthan -- from Attapalam in connection with the incident and registered a murder case under section of BNS 103 (2) (culpable homicide).
Walayar Inspector NS Rajeev said 10 more suspects have been taken into custody and their arrest would be recorded after receiving the postmortem reports. All the arrested five youths were produced before the court on Friday and sent to judicial custody for 14 days...
