Kolkata, Feb. 24 -- A late-night shooting incident in Kolkata left a 23-year-old youth critically injured, triggering panic in the neighbourhood and a police hunt for the accused.
The injured youth has been admitted to SSKM Hospital, where his condition is stated to be serious.
According to sources at Lalbazar, the chain of events began on Monday evening following a dispute between a group of local youths and another young man in the Beniapukur police station area.
The altercation reportedly escalated as the night progressed.
Around midnight, the assailant allegedly opened fire, targeting Mohammad Niaz alias Raja, aged 23.
Two rounds were fired, both of which hit the youth in the leg.
