Mumbai, March 13 -- Indian vegetables such as lemon, green chillies, drumsticks (moringa), okra and bitter gourd witness strong demand in Gulf countries throughout the year.

However, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has severely disrupted exports of these vegetables, causing a direct impact on farmers in India.

Due to the prevailing war-like situation in the region, export operations to several Gulf nations have come to a halt. As a result, farmers who depend on overseas markets for better prices are now facing significant financial losses.
