New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has blamed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk for inciting violent protests that erupted in Leh earlier today, leading to casualties and damage to public properties.

The government also blamed Wangchuk for failing to make any efforts to control the situation.

The Home Ministry in a statement said, "It is clear that the mob was incited by Shri Sonam Wangchuk through his provocative statements. Incidentally, amidst these violent developments, he broke his fast and left for his village in an ambulance without making serious efforts to control the situation."While stating that the situation is under control, the government has urged the "people not to circulate old and provocative videos ...
