Chennai, Oct. 6 -- A statue of AIADMK founder and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran was found desecrated at Vadivasal in Madurai district today.
Authorities swung into action and initiated corrective action as the incident sparked off tension in the area.
AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami condemned the incident and said the desecration of the statue of the revolutionary leader and people's beloved icon, PuratchiThalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran, near Vadivasal in Madurai's Thiruparankundram andAvaniyapuram areas, is an act that deserves the strongest condemnation.
