Mexico City, Nov. 11 -- Pachuca has sacked manager and head coach Jaime Lozano after less than six months in charge, the Mexican top-flight club said.
On Monday, the announcement followed a 1-0 away defeat to Santos Laguna on the last matchday of the Liga MX regular season.
The result left Pachuca ninth in the standings, forcing the Hidalgo-based club to compete in the sudden-death play-in round.
"After an open conversation and by mutual agreement, Jaime Lozano and our institution have decided to part ways," read a statement on Pachuca's official website.
Lozano, who replaced Guillermo Almada in May, led the Tuzos to eight wins, four draws, and 12 defeats.
